Wolf River Chapter

...promoting native plants, natural landscapes, and environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT…
Our Wolf River Chapter has been an active group, and we’ve accomplished a lot in the almost 10 years that we’ve been in existence. We have worked hard to promote native plants in our Shawano community…planting display beds in our local parks, hosting spring seminars for the public, consulting with homeowners on the benefits of adding native plants to their landscapes, working with area organizations to install native plantings in public places, and more.

Unfortunately our “active” membership has dwindled, and it has become increasingly difficult to continue with our mission to promote native plants in the Shawano area. Despite our efforts to gain more members, there are very few who show up to do the work necessary to keep this chapter going (i.e maintaining the community display beds, organizing public speaking programs, participating in community events, and even attending monthly meetings).

Our Chapter will be meeting on December 11, 2025 at 6pm in the meeting room at Qualheim’s in Shawano (1345 Green Bay Street) and we will be voting on whether or not to dissolve the Chapter. If you have our same passion for native plants and can dedicate the time to keep the Wild Ones-Wolf River chapter moving forward, we welcome you to attend.

Sincerely, Gail S - WRWO President
