HERITAGE PARK NATIVE SHRUB PROJECT
Our Chapter received funding to install native shrubs in Heritage Park along the Wolf River in Shawano. Our volunteers worked hard removing all of the grass and weeds, rototilling the area and incorporating good soil, and mulching/watering the entire bed.
There’s a wonderful variety of native shrubs in this planting that will provide spring flowers for pollinators, summer berries for the birds, and nice fall color. Be sure to check out this area when you come to Rhubarb Fest at Heritage Park every June and throughout the seasons!
A big thank you to Cellcom and Shadows on the Wolf for sponsoring this project.
